Cahokia Mounds

The site at Cahokia is another example of early American inhabitants. In use from 800 A.D. the settlement is the largest and earliest pre-Columbian archaeological site north of Mexico. At it's height it is estimated that 10-20,000 inhabitants lived and farmed there.
