This tune is titled Sunrise Blues and is a version of this song with a meter of 9 for the main section in the key of D minor. The intro features a didjeridoo recorded in Australia for another earlier version of this piece. The overall style (didj aside) of the piece draws from a few different styles, Piedmont Blues, Delta Blues and a little bit of Reggae. This recording was made with the Brown Chicken Brown Cow String Band during my residency at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology just before American Thanksgiving. Recording took place in the Boyden Studio at the Sitka Center next to a woodstove for heat over 3 days, resulting in this and a recording of my composition using Hijaz.
